This brew won the 2012 GOLD medal at the World Beer Championship. Barleywine, or as it used to be known as, “Old Ale”, originated in England in the early 18th century. Today, examples of Barleywine are divided by traditional (English) and Modern American versions. An all malt ale, they are characterized as being rich, complex and high in alcohol.
